Move Through Life (MTL) offers dance classes for adults from beginner
to advanced through it's regular weekly classes and through 8-week dance
programs offered three times a year.

Weekly classes
MTL offers a weekly class program for adult dancers that spans three
days, four styles, two levels and two locations. Wednesdays, Thursdays
and Saturdays offer up a menu of contemporary, ballet, jazz and body conditioning
for beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced in Glengowrie and
Clarence Park.

What
Ballet, contemporary, jazz and body conditioning
Level 2 - for people with some dance experience, including people who've
completed an 8-week seasonal dance program
Level 3 - for people with at least five years dance experience.

Thursday evenings
(Level 3) at the Glengowrie Uniting Church
- Ballet 7pm-8pm
- Contemporary 8pm-9pm, Level 3
Saturday afternoons
(Level 2) at the Glengowrie Uniting Church
- Ballet 2pm-3pm
- Contemporary 3m-4pm
- Jazz 4pm-5pm

MTL's pricing system means you can reduce the class fee up to almost
50%, reducing the cost from $20 to $10.50. Read on for how ....

Discounts available when purchasing multiple class passes:
6 classes (10%), 12 classes (15%), 18 classes (20%), 24 classes (25%),
48 classes (40%)
Payment
and enrolment
Please complete download the enrolment
form (Word 60.5KB) and bring the completed form
with you to you first class.
You can pay in cash on the night or pay in advance by online transfer.
Please email either a completed enrolment form (if it is your first time
at MTL) or a Class
Pass Online Payment Form (Word 55.4KB), along
with an electronic receipt of your payment.

Who can
take part
The class is open to both company dancers and non-company dancers.
Participation in at least one class per week will be a requirement of
participating in a performance project, but you do not need to be part
of a performance project to take part in the class.

Seasonal dance programs
Would you like to learn how to move with grace and ease, and get fit
at the same time?
Want to learn to dance with other adults who share your curiosity
and passion about dance?
Move Through Life has a series of introd designed so people with little
or no dance experience can learn the fundamentals of dance and develop
the skills and confidence to join our regular weekly dance classes..
The seasonal dance programs are eight-week fitness course-cum-contemporary
jazz class for anyone with a moderate level of fitness. A solid, low impact
course of body toning stretches and energising dance routines.

Do you want to feel vibrant and alive this summer? Get Fit
For Sumer and join our 8 week spring dance pgroam at 2pm on Saturday
afternoons at the Glengowrie Uniting Church from 4 September to
23 October.

Keep Your New Year's Resolution January and Feburary 2011
Keep Your New Year's Resolution will run in January and February
2011. Registrations will open in November.
The first KYNYR program was held from 9 January to 27 February
2010.

Beat The Winter Blues will run in May and June 2011.

Code of ethics
Move Through Life adheres to the following code of ethics for dance teachers
(Adapted from the Ausdance Code of Ethics for Dance Teachers)

Please note - "participant" refers to students
and cast members, "facilitator" refers to those whose role is
teaching, choreography and/or rehearsal direction.
This code is intended to inform board members, staff, participants and
members of Move Through Life of the ethical standards expected by the
organisation.
- The Board and Director (Artistic Director / General Manager) will
state clearly defined aims setting out the broad goals to be achieved
by the organisation. A similar set of objectives will be stated which
outlines the benefits a participant can expect to receive through the
facilitator's conscientious implementation of them.
- The Board and Director will ensure that the organisation is capable
of providing any services claimed.
- The Director will engage facilitators with the experience, knowledge
and/or qualifications required by the levels and techniques to be used.
All personnel will receive an induction kit and will sign a contract
to ensure maintenance of the organisation's teaching standards.
- The organisation will conform to sound business practice and provide
an efficient fee system.
- The Director will ensure that classes and rehearsals are of a size
appropriate to the levels and techniques being covered. Participants
in each class will be of a compatible standard.
- The Director and individual facilitators will ensure that facilities
provided:
· conform with minimum safety and space requirements
· have suitable flooring, with a safe surface designed and constructed
to minimise risk of injury.
- Individual facilitators will use adequate and flexible teaching skills
to create a productive learning environment. Individual facilitators
will:
· strive to communicate a love of dance
· demonstrate professional attitudes, including punctuality,
reliability and responsible care of participants
· strive to develop self-discipline and self-motivation in the
participants
· encourage and support the individual in the class situation
· transmit general concepts of movement in addition to those
of a particular dance style.
- Individual facilitators will recognise the role of dance in the well
being of the whole person and will seek to recognise and develop each
participant's potential.
- Individual facilitators will endeavour to recognise physical anomalies,
modifying the teaching and choreography and seeking medical advice when
necessary. The teaching and choreography must be anatomically safe,
and facilitators must be prepared to deal with medical emergencies.
- Individual facilitators will strive to develop in the participants
an appreciation of the characteristic style of each specific technique
taught.
- Individual facilitators will take responsibility for seeking further
knowledge in all aspects of their work.
