MTL is offering a whole range of new classes in 2010, and I hope there will be a class in a style and at a level that will suit you.  Full details are avaialble at www.movethroughlife.org.au/training.htm.

1.1  GET FIT SEASONAL DANCE PROGRAMS
Starting 9 January and running on Saturday afternoons until 27 February, the Keep Your New Year's Resolution (KYNYR) program will help you keep your new year's resolution if you have vowed to "get fit", "exercise more" or "do something for yourself" in 2010.

KYNYR is the second get fit dance program offered by MTL, and follows on from the Get Fit For Summer program that was offered in October and November.  MTL is running three seasonal, get fit programs per year:

·  Jan-Feb   - Keep Your New Year's Resolution
·  May-June - Beat The Winter Blues
·  Sep-Oct   - Get Fit For Summer

If you haven't danced for a while, or ever before, our seasonal get fit dance programs may be just the thing for you to dip your toe into the water.

Places in the KYNYR program are limited, so booking is essential.

2pm-3pm, Level 1 for people with little or no dance experience
3pm-4pm, Level 2 for people with some dance experience

1.2  WEEKLY CLASSES

Company class resumes 14 January
MTL's regular company class resumes on Thursday 14 January, but instead of just one class, we'll have two.

7pm-8pm Contemporary
8pm-9pm Ballet

The company class is open to anyone and is most suitable for people with at least five years dance experience.

No bookings necessary

See below for details of pricing.

More classes from March
More classes will be launched in March, and will include weekly ballet, contemporary, jazz and body conditioning classes at:
- Level 2, beginners/intermediate, some dance experience recommended
- Level 3, intermediate/advanced, at least five years dance experience recommended

Since there will be more classes at various levels, the "company class" will now be referred to as "Level 3" classes.

Stay tuned for more details about time, day and place for each of these classes

New pricing structure
A new pricing structure will be effective from 14 January 2010.

The base rate is $20/class, but you can almost halve this cost by joining MTL as a dancer member and buying classes in bulk.

Members' price is $15, and class passes can be bought in lots of 6, 12, 18, 24 and 48, with increasing discounts for the number of classes purchased on a class pass.
Maximum discount is 30% for a 48 week pass, which brings the per class price down to $10.50

Full details of the new pricing structure is available on the class pass payment form (Word 55.4KB).  Details on joining MTL are avaialble at www.movethroughlife.org.au/membership.htm.

2.
 NEXT FRINGE FESTIVAL PRODUCTION

MTL will present it's next performance season during the 2011 Adelaide Fringe Festival, and is now looking for expressions of interest from choreographers and dancers to get involved in the development of new dance work.

Instead of starting with a set idea of the next production, we are starting with a new choreographic program called Expand which will give choreographers the chance to explore and expand their ideas, working in the studio with dancers and presenting their work at various stages of development.  Quarterly work-in-progress presentations will be held in the Glengowrie studio in April, August and December.  A program of dance pieces will be curated for presentation as part of the MTL season in the Adelaide Fringe Festival in March 2011.

Thank you to the City of Marion for helping us kick off Expand with a $2,000 community development grant to help cover the costs of studio space.

MTL also needs to raise an additional $5,000 to fully cover the cost of the program (see below for information about upcoming fundraising activities).

If you are interested in being part of Expand as a choreographer or dancer, or simply wish to help with the fundraising efforts, please email jo.mcdonald@movethroughlife.org.au or phone 0402 070 021.

3. FUNDRAISING

We've got a lot of work to do to reach our fundraising target of $5,000 before June 2010.  The good news is you can help us by treating yourself to wine, chocolate, BBQ sausages or a night out at the movies.

GISA Wines
Summer is the perfect time to stock up on wine to cover all those BBQs and social functions.  MTL is running a wine fundraiser until March thanks to GISA Wines.  We had a tasting at the MTL Christmas Function on 17 December and discovered that the quality of the wines and the price are both excellent.

You can download the order form to see what's on offer and prices, and then submit your order directly to GISA and pay with the simple click of a button.  $20 from every dozen sold goes to MTL, and you can rest assured that you aren't paying the extra $20, as GISA sells their wines for the same price direct to the public.

GISA Wines is a virtual winery that produces wines made from fruit that comes exclusively from South Australia.  South Australia represents only 9% of the Australian population but it home to 50% of the Australian wine industry.  You can get some great wine and do a double hit good deed by supporting MTL and the SA wine industry.  Check out www.gisa.com.au to find out more about GISA.

Thank you to Simon Robinson for organising the wine fundraiser.
