Company Story
Move Through Life has a vision to inspire and enable people to dance
throughout their lives. Through our training, choreographic and performance
programs, we offer adult dancers an entry point and developmental pathway.
Whether you've been dancing all your life, or always wanted to, Move Through
Life offers something for you.
The company began as an informal collective in 2004, and now offers seven
classes per week in contemporary, jazz, ballet and body conditioning at
various levels, specialist introductory "get fit" dance programs
for beginners, a choreographic program, a choreographic club, and a performing
company.
Move Through Life is a community of dancers. As a not-for-profit organisation,
it is owned by its members. Dancers of all ages and abilities have the
chance to be part of a world that is welcoming, exciting and inspiring.
Through regular classes, performances and social events, Move Through
Life encourages its members to be physically, mentally, creatively and
socially active.
The most recent production by Move Through Life's performing company
was Black Coffee, set in a 1950s jazz clubwhich had a sold out
season at the Marion Cultural Centre in the 2009 Adelaide Fringe Festival,
followed by an encore performance in Mount Barker during the Mount Barker
Jazz Festival. Black Coffee was MTL's fifth production, following on from
Mocean (2007), Singles, (2006), One Two Three (2005)
and eMerge (2004).
